Fall Bucket List

It’s our favorite time of year again (yay, fall!), and we have so much to be excited about. The picture above is from last year’s pumpkin patch visit (Rosemary’s first), and I can’t wait to see what she thinks about all the pumpkins now that she’s a year older.

Last year was about all the firsts and making things happen. This year, while we did just enjoy our first pumpkin party with new friends, we’re a little more at ease. Laid back, playful moments and a little bit of nostalgia are on the agenda. Here’s a small bucket list of fun things we’d like to make time for this season.

  1. Checking out one of the local school fairs. We’ve already enjoyed a slow morning at one school craft fair followed by warm, glazed donuts from our favorite donut shop!
  2. Pumpkin patch! We’re heading there with my brother next week, and I can’t wait to pick our pumpkins.
  3. Decorate our front steps. After we pick our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, we’ll decorate our front steps. A cozy, fall welcome is the best.
  4. Enjoy all the fall books with Rosemary. She loves to read, and sitting down for story time is one of our favorite things to do.
  5. Bake pumpkin muffins! Preferably over the weekend when it’s a little cooler outside and football is on the television.
  6. Watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Of course!
  7. Art for Art’s Sake. Happening tonight on Magazine Street in New Orleans! Going to see if we can pull this off. It’s been a few years since we’ve attended, and I’d love to check out some of the galleries.
  8. Soups. ‘Tis the season! We love this recipe for Tuscan soup, and this pumpkin bisque from Trader Joe’s pairs perfectly with Muenster grilled cheese.
  9. Beignets and play with friends at Cafe du Monde in City Park. Believing the weather will be crisp and cool that day.
  10. Fall fest at church. A non-scary alternative for Halloween… just need to see if I can come up with a costume for Rosemary.

What activities do you have planned for fall?
