It’s our favorite time of year again (yay, fall!), and we have so much to be excited about. The picture above is from last year’s pumpkin patch visit (Rosemary’s first), and I can’t wait to see what she thinks about all the pumpkins now that she’s a year older.
Last year was about all the firsts and making things happen. This year, while we did just enjoy our first pumpkin party with new friends, we’re a little more at ease. Laid back, playful moments and a little bit of nostalgia are on the agenda. Here’s a small bucket list of fun things we’d like to make time for this season.
- Checking out one of the local school fairs. We’ve already enjoyed a slow morning at one school craft fair followed by warm, glazed donuts from our favorite donut shop!
- Pumpkin patch! We’re heading there with my brother next week, and I can’t wait to pick our pumpkins.
- Decorate our front steps. After we pick our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, we’ll decorate our front steps. A cozy, fall welcome is the best.
- Enjoy all the fall books with Rosemary. She loves to read, and sitting down for story time is one of our favorite things to do.
- Bake pumpkin muffins! Preferably over the weekend when it’s a little cooler outside and football is on the television.
- Watch It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Of course!
- Art for Art’s Sake. Happening tonight on Magazine Street in New Orleans! Going to see if we can pull this off. It’s been a few years since we’ve attended, and I’d love to check out some of the galleries.
- Soups. ‘Tis the season! We love this recipe for Tuscan soup, and this pumpkin bisque from Trader Joe’s pairs perfectly with Muenster grilled cheese.
- Beignets and play with friends at Cafe du Monde in City Park. Believing the weather will be crisp and cool that day.
- Fall fest at church. A non-scary alternative for Halloween… just need to see if I can come up with a costume for Rosemary.
What activities do you have planned for fall?
