We had a great weekend. Pitt and I had a date night on Friday which meant dressing up for dinner at a steak house, followed by dessert at a local ice creamery. My mouth and belly were so satisfied by the end of the night. It’s been a busy season, so it was so nice to disconnect for a while, just the two of us. We settled in at home with a movie I’d *surprisingly* never seen before, When Harry Met Sally. Oh my goodness, I can totally see why it is a classic! All in all, it was a perfect night.
Saturday was relaxing. Starting with breakfast out and some light shopping and a slower pace throughout the day.
Sunday morning, we headed to church, our first in-person service in what seemed like forever! Although, in-person services have been happening for a while now, because of irregular schedules, we often do service online. However, getting plugged in with our church family, in real life, is a priority of ours. It makes such a huge difference, and it felt so good to be able to worship with other believers in God’s house and hear an awesome message on the Holy Spirit.
The last couple weeks have been busier, and I wasn’t spending as much time with God as I wanted or needed to. I noticed a shift in my mood and perspective, and I knew I needed to spend time with Him. My spirit felt depleted. I was missing that intimacy with God. I’ve made time the last couple days, and what a difference it has made! I (we) need Him every day. We need to be filled with His Spirit every day. It’s the only way we can be who God has created us to be and live out our days victoriously! It’s true: you can’t be a follower of Jesus without the power of the Holy Spirit. He is essential. We need to be filled daily. And I am simply thankful for His presence in my life. Beyond what God gives, it’s loving Him back and giving Him our all in each day.
I hope your week is off to a great start, but if not, choose to make it better. You’ll never regret spending more time with God.
“Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” Psalms 31:23-24
